Teemu Polvi CV

I'm a programmer/designer with a solid background in professional game & software development.

I have a strong passion for creating fun experiences for end users. Most of my work has been in the field Mobile App and Game Development.

While Mobiteos has taken part of my free time during the past 10 years, I have also most of the time been working on full-time jobs in different areas of the industry. In 2019 I transitioned to working full time as a freelancer.

I was born in 1985 in Pori, Finland and I have lived in Tampere since 2008. Outside of interest in software & games, I also enjoy going to gym and spending time outside walking and running.

Education & Skills

I have Msc from Tampere University of Technology, in accordance with the Degree Programme in Management and Information Technology. I graduated in 2018. My Master's Thesis was about Using spatial analytics to evaluate design decisions in a mobile game.

While during past years I have focused mainly on iOS development, I have a history of learning new technologies and programming languages quickly.

  • iOS Development: Objective-C since 2009 + recently also with Swift

  • Game Development: Unity 3D, Cocos2D-x JS (HTML5)

  • Android Development: Java, Worked on released Android Apps & Games

  • General Programming: C++, C#, Java

  • Web development: HTML, Javascript , PHP, AWS-gymnastics - not my main cup of tea, but I get by fine ;)

  • UI, Design & Graphics: UI, Design & Graphics: Sketch, Photoshop & Blender. I can whip up a UI design, logo, icon or a 3D model. I also know how to communicate (and follow guidelines) from fellow designers.

Supporting developers on creating solutions for Nokia platforms in Symbian C++ and Qt technologies. Product owner in the Cocos2D-x porting project. Prepared C++ game examples and provided support to 3rd party developers.
